This is a PEER PRESSURE REBOUND DRILL taken from the historic “self improvement clinic” that met for twenty years.
In Frame 1 the x1 player is on defense while a coach shoots at (C), x1 must rebound the ball before 1 does and outlet to half court to (MG) if x1 gets two in a row he goes to the end of the line behind 4. He cannot leave until he gets this done. 1 will go first vs x1 then 2 will go. this is a very aggressive drill and we do it everyday. Remember two things:
1. Rebound 2. Outlet
In Frame 2 it is two vs two with the same goal …the two, x1 and x2, must get two rebounds and 2 outlets in a row to get out of the line. When they do they will go to the end of the line behind 5 and 4. The next two will move up and become defensive rebounders. This will continue until every one has completed the task. The two offensive players can cross or just go for the ball. Again the agression level is very high…we do not care how they block out just get the job done.
This drill was a real “Team Toughener” and, as disussed in an earlier post about Aggression, could take a player from a 7 to a 9 (or sometimes lead a 3 or 4 to take up another sport!)
